The idea has evolved from the days of Arbor Day founder and former U.S. secretary of agriculture, Julius Sterling Morton. However, tree planting still demonstrates a genuine concern for future generations. The simple act of planting a tree represents the belief in protecting our natural environment, providing shelter from the sun and wind, beautifying rural landscapes, and offering an escape from the urban jungle. Arbor Day is the perfect opportunity for people across the globe to celebrate their cities, parks, and forests by planting trees. Simply put, Arbor Day brings people together. As corporations and individuals, here are a few simple ways to celebrate Arbor Day 2020, which falls this year on Friday, April 24:

Arbor Day 2020 is the perfect time to establish a deeper relationship with the Arbor Day Foundation so that we can make even more great things happen together. This includes joining the global campaign to plant 1 trillion trees by supporting large-scale reforestation programs, as the Arbor Day Foundation continues to work with the leadership of the Trillion Trees Initiative.
2. Community and corporate tree planting with social media:
   Become part of a growing movement centered around trees through organizing community tree planting events on your corporate campus or at a local park, trail, or green space. Learn more about this great opportunity to engage your employees. Share these moments with the Arbor Day Foundation on social media to better get the word out that tree planting contributes to communities, and protects our natural environment, whether in rural or urban settings. Team Trees Update

We did it! More than 800,000 unique donors from around the world became part of the #TeamTrees community following an initial call to action led by MrBeast, Mark Rober, and an extensive network of creators. #TeamTrees launched October 25th with an unprecedented wave of videos on YouTube all communicating the goal of raising $20 million by 2020 to plant 20 million trees around the world.

#TeamTrees quickly went viral and by December 19 surpassed the original goal and the promise of more than 20 million trees became a reality. Nearly 30 projects have been selected for the first wave of planting and more will soon follow. With more than $21.6 million raised to-date and people still contributing to the campaign, the #TeamTrees community continues to grow its global reach.
