Dan Lambe
Dan Lambe

Chief Executive, Arbor Day Foundation

Dan Lambe has committed nearly two decades of work to helping solve some of the biggest issues facing people and the planet through trees. Since being named CEO in 2022 after 19 years in leadership roles at the Arbor Day Foundation, Lambe launched an initiative to accelerate the nonprofit’s impact by planting 500 million trees with a focus in forests and neighborhoods of greatest need.

Over the course of eight years in leadership at the Arbor Day Foundation, Katie Loos has been an integral part of guiding the nonprofit’s period of rapid growth. She is committed to fostering an environment where team members are empowered to reach new levels of success and advance the Foundation’s ability to plant, nurture and celebrate trees around the world.

Lizzie is an award-winning journalist and the author of “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire” about the blaze that roared through the Northern California town of Paradise. Her book is now being adapted into a feature film.

Arbor Day Farm

VIP Access to Arbor Day Farm

Arbor Day Farm, the original home of Arbor Day, stretches across 260 acres of eastern Nebraska. This property features the historic mansion where the founder of the holiday lived, trees that are well over 100 years old, educational exhibits, local food and beverages, and so much more.

As a Member Summit attendee, you will receive exclusive tours of the farm. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the stunning natural beauty of the historic site firsthand.

Relaxing Accommodations

Book your stay at Lied Lodge, our 140-room hotel located on Arbor Day Farm. The hotel features scenic views, a spa, an Olympic-sized pool, a fitness center, and several delicious dining options.

Your room is not included in your registration, so you'll need to book it separately. Book by May 9 to receive your special Summit Room Rate of $149 plus taxes.

We’ll break out into optional smaller groups on Tuesday and Wednesday so you can experience all the farm has to offer.

Behind-the-scenes at Arbor Lodge Mansion

Take a guided tour of the home of the founder of Arbor Day. Our deeply knowledgeable guides will walk you through the mansion and servants’ quarters, telling stories of the people who worked and lived there. Attendees will enjoy exclusive access to areas not open to the public, including the private bowling alley, and take home a souvenir gift.

Cider and Charcuterie

Arbor Day Farm is known for its delicious apples and hard ciders. Our executive chef and sommelier will guide you through the unique characteristics of our ciders and lead a class on crafting the perfect charcuterie board.

Historic Orchard Tour

Enjoy a tour through Arbor Day Farm’s 25-acre production orchard while learning about how we grow and care for our apples. We’ll talk about the Farm’s history and the sustainability practices of today. You’ll learn the art and science behind grafting, rootstock selection, high density growing systems, hard cider varieties, and much more.

Living Landscape Exploration

The landscape of Arbor Day Farm was built on the interconnectedness of humans and nature. Along with guest speakers from the Lilac Society, you’ll explore the vast and intentional landscaping of the Farm, including a look at the relationship between trees, shrubs, flowering plants, and grasses.

Attire

June weather in Nebraska can be quite warm. Summer thunderstorms are also a frequent occurrence. Rain gear and layers are always in style. Jeans and shorts are welcome at all events, but collared shirts and dresses are welcome too.

Flying into Nebraska?

Shuttles to and from the Omaha or Lincoln airport can be booked through Lied Lodge. Uber and Lyft are not available in Nebraska City, so a shuttle from the airport is your best bet. You will be sent shuttle booking details upon registration for the Summit and our Reservations team will charge it separately.

Lodging

Your room at Lied Lodge is not included in the $399 registration cost. You'll need to book it separately. Book lodging by May 9 to receive your special Summit Room Rate of $149 per night plus taxes. We recommend staying Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 11, but this rate still applies if you decide to extend your stay for additional nights.

Accessibility

Elevators and ADA-accessible lodging are available at Lied Lodge. Small group activities can accommodate a range of mobility needs. If you have questions about activities, email or call 800-322-3816 so we can make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Cancellation Policy

Change of plans? Cancellations made prior to May 10 will receive a 100% refund, less a $100 admin fee. Cancellations made beginning May 10 will not receive a refund.
