The Global Goals initiative was developed as a worldwide movement to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and fix climate change in the next 15 years. Work happening through the Arbor Day Foundation makes a positive impact on eight of the 17 established goals.
Our Arbor Day Foundation Coffee and Rain Forest Rescue programs help provide impoverished families with a better source of income.
The Nature Explore program is focused on providing an enriched outdoor learning environment for children, particularly those with limited access to nature.
We’re restoring water-related ecosystems and improving water quality through our Carbon Offset, Reforestation, Tree City USA, Tree Campus USA, and Community Tree Recovery programs.
Our Arbor Day Foundation Coffee program is helping to provide equitable access to education as well as improving community infrastructure.
Several Foundation programs (including Tree City USA and Alliance for Community Trees) help to improve air quality, and Nature Explore Classrooms have been established in areas where women and children might not otherwise have access to green space.
All programs through the Arbor Day Foundation focus on sustainability, and our paperless and carbon offset programs help companies reduce their impact on the planet in a tangible way.
Because we focus on planting trees, all of our programs help to combat climate change and its impacts—particularly our Carbon Offset and Reforestation programs.
Foundationwide, we focus on protecting and re-establishing habitat, sustainable forestry, and conservation and restoration of forestland.
