FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - (January 11, 2007) - The National Arbor Day Foundation today announced its partnership with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. to help promote the automaker's nationwide tour called "Highway to the Future: Mobile Hybrid Experience." Toyota will plant 50,000 trees to minimize the environmental impact of transporting the tour across the country.

The tour is designed to provide consumers with a firsthand opportunity to experience automotive hybrid technology. The tour will kick off today at the San Jose International Auto Show and will travel to more than 150 events throughout the country during the next 18 months.

Toyota will work with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 50,000 trees in honor of those visiting the experience, to help offset the "carbon footprint" of the trucks used to transport the tour. The trees will be planted in national forests damaged by wildfire, insects, disease, and other natural causes. They will provide wildlife habitat, prevent soil erosion, clean the air, and make a positive impact for years to come.

"Toyota's Mobile Hybrid Experience tour is an outstanding example of environmental stewardship at its best," said John Rosenow, president of The National Arbor Day Foundation. "By educating consumers across the country about the environmental benefits of hybrid technology and also planting 50,000 trees to offset the tour's transportation emissions, Toyota demonstrates a true and lasting commitment to creating a healthy earth for this and future generations."

At each tour stop, consumers will have the opportunity to learn about hybrid technology through a number of interactive educational exhibits and test drives. At select events, Toyota's Highway to the Future: Mobile Hybrid Experience will provide attendees with the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Prius, Camry Hybrid and Highlander Hybrid to experience Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive system for themselves. In addition to the on-road activities, the exhibits serve as a mobile museum to the environment and alternative fuels.
