Danielle Crumrine Tapped to Serve on Arbor Day Foundation Board of Trustees

First Ever Trustee from Pennsylvania Brings Deep Expertise in Urban Forestry
Lincoln, Neb. (March 24, 2016) -- The Arbor Day Foundation Board of Trustees has appointed Pittsburgh resident Danielle Crumrine to serve for a three year term. Prior to the appointment, Danielle was the acting President for the Alliance for Community Trees.
For more than fifteen years, Danielle has worked in various capacities in the Pittsburgh environmental community. In addition to serving as Tree Pittsburgh's Executive Director for the past nine years, she is a member of the Steering Committee for the City of Pittsburgh's Resiliency Plan, and a leader in the local Green Space Alliance. Prior to joining Tree Pittsburgh in 2007, she was the founding Board President and Executive Director of Allegheny CleanWays, a group dedicated to empowering people to fight illegal dumping and littering in Allegheny County.
Danielle was recently named a top 40 under 40 environmental leader across the state of Pennsylvania by the PA Environmental Council. Additionally, Danielle previously served as President of the Board for Grow Pittsburgh as well as a board member for the Sprout Fund and Gemini Children's Theater.
"Danielle provides the board with a unique perspective given her deep experience in the urban forestry community, " said Ray Empson, Chair, Arbor Day Foundation Board of Trustees. "Her insights will contribute to the continued growth and impact of our organization across the globe."
A graduate of Duquesne University Danielle received a B.A. in 1996 and a M.S. in Education in 2002.
