LINCOLN, Nebraska (June 11, 2026) – This spring, the Arbor Day Foundation teamed up with FIFA to leave a positive environmental legacy in all 16 FIFA World Cup 2026™ Host Cities.
The trees planted through this collaboration will deliver meaningful, long-term environmental benefits for cities across the three host nations — including Canada, Mexico and USA.
“The FIFA World Cup 2026 team came to us with a big idea and a big ambition to execute more than 16 events across three different countries. We said, ‘when can we get started?’,” said Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. “Alongside our unmatched network of local tree planting partners, we helped FIFA leave a legacy of environmental impact that local communities will continue to feel long after the tournament’s final whistle.”
