Arbor Day Foundation Celebrates Tree Planter’s Holiday With Fourth-Annual ‘Arbor Day LNK’ Celebration
National Arbor Day is celebrated annually on the last Friday in April
LINCOLN, Nebraska (April 21, 2026) – The Arbor Day Foundation will host Lincoln’s largest celebration of trees on Sunday, April 26 in Antelope Park. The fourth-annual ‘Arbor Day LNK’ commemorates the National Arbor Day holiday and is free to the public.
The community event will run 12pm – 3pm and will feature live music, tree identification tours, and family-friendly exercise classes.
In collaboration with State Farm®, the Arbor Day Foundation will also give away more than 450 trees on a first-come, first-serve basis. Trees vary in species and size and will be available for pickup at the event. Certified arborists will be available to provide tree planting demonstrations.
“We look forward to this celebration every year because there’s something special about seeing our local community come together to have fun, take home a new tree, and celebrate Arbor Day,” said Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.
National Arbor Day is observed across the country each year on the last Friday in April. In honor of the holiday, the Arbor Day Foundation is assembling the world’s largest collection of personal tree stories. People that want to share a photo or a story about a tree they love can visit arborday.org/celebrate.
