Nebraska City, Neb. (Sept. 5, 2007) – A trip to Nebraska City for the annual AppleJack Festival, September 15-16, isn’t complete without a visit to historic Arbor Day Farm to enjoy all the family-fun entertainment throughout the weekend.

“Arbor Day Farm is a wonderful place to celebrate part of the AppleJack Festival,” said Doug Farrar, vice president of Arbor Day Farm. “AppleJack is a great time for families to get together, enjoy the outdoors, and explore the very best nature has to offer.”

New this year is the Tasting Room at the Apple House, where guests can sample Arbor Day Farm wines from the Farm’s own vineyards by the glass or bottle along with various cheeses and breads. The Apple House also serves home-made apple pies, fresh apple cider and other refreshments for the entire family.

Visitors are encouraged to spend time at the Tree Adventure attraction, which is located next to the Apple House at Arbor Day Farm. Children, parents and grandparents can interact with nature at the world’s first Nature Explore Classroom, explore the Tree House Trail, climb 50 feet high in the Canopy Tree House, watch “Trees in the Movies,” and solve mysteries in the Nature Explore Club Cabin. Each guest, with a paid admission to the Tree Adventure, receives a free tree seedling to take home and plant, and either a tree identification guide or a child’s activity guide.

The area’s largest craft fair will be held at Arbor Day Farm’s Historic Barns until 5 p.m. on Sept. 15 and 16.

Special AppleJack activities include tree climbing and cross-cut saw competitions with the expert Tree Adventure Arborist Team, Raptor Recovery with live birds, guided nature walks on Arbor Day Farm trails, tomahawk throwing, live honey bee display at the Club Cabin, Smokey the Bear and Carly Cardinal walking the trails, explore the new Corn Maze and much more.

Lied Lodge & Conference Center, a world-class destination at Arbor Day Farm, offers fine dining in a casually elegant setting.
