Celebrate America's Tree-Planting Holiday at Arbor Day Farm April 26-28

Nebraska City, Neb. (April 19, 2013) – Visitors to Nebraska City are invited to celebrate the 141st anniversary of Arbor Day from Friday, April 26 to Sunday, April 28.

Special Arbor Day weekend events include tree climbing and cross-cut sawing, face painting, outdoor learning activities, wine tasting and live music.

At the Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, visitors are invited to take the Discovery Ride, hike the trails or learn and play in the Nature Explore Classroom. The Discovery Ride offers an upfront view of woodlands paths and natural treasures, including a journey through the beginnings of the spring bloom at Arbor Day Farm's Preservation Orchard. Discovery Rides depart at noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

The entire Nebraska City and surrounding community will mark the international tree-planting holiday from April 26-28, 2013, with the theme of "Dig It, Plant It, Grow It."
