Partnership kicks off with Utah Tree Planting
LINCOLN, Neb., April 17, 2018 – The Arbor Day Foundation has announced a new partnership with Traeger Wood Fired Grills as part of the company's commitment to sustainable practices. The partnership is launching with a kick-off tree planting event in Millcreek, Utah on April 18 at 9 a.m. Traeger employees will help plant 20 much-needed trees in Scott Avenue Park (3475 S 800 E, Millcreek, UT 84106). Arbor Day Foundation's Alliance for Community Tree member, TreeUtah, is facilitating the planting.
TreeUtah and Traeger selected Scott Avenue Park to help restore a community gathering space in need. The park has not had any tree plantings in several years and recently removed dead trees from its premises. The event will seek to improve and beautify the park to benefit the surrounding community in Millcreek.
"We applaud Traeger's efforts in using trees to further the company's sustainability goals," said Dan Lambe, president, Arbor Day Foundation. "Because of their commitment, not only will the trees planted bring beauty to the area, they will bring environmental benefits such as cleaner air and water to the area."
In addition to the Utah kick-off, Traeger is supporting the planting of 5,000 trees in the Mississippi River Valley planting effort in 2018.

TreeUtah is dedicated to improving Utah's quality of life for present and future generations by enhancing the environment through tree planting, stewardship and education. Through working with municipalities and public agencies, they identify locations in need of tree plantings. We engage groups of volunteers not only help plant trees in their neighborhoods, but to learn about why the tree varieties were selected for the planting site, the right tree choices for our region, and how to plant for success.
