Celebrating a Classic That Gives Back
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the classic Peanuts® special, It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown, our friends at Lee Mendelson Film Productions released a special vinyl and CD edition of the original soundtrack by composer Vince Guaraldi, donating one dollar from every sale to plant a tree in a forest of need. Thank you for your purchase — your support is already making a difference.
Our partnership with Lee Mendelson Film Productions honors the tree planter's holiday with a timeless message of hope for the world.
"What could be more important than the beauty of nature, and the importance of conservation? That’s what Arbor Day is all about, and that’s the theme of our show."
- Charles M. Schulz, Cartoonist and creator of PEANUTS

Help the good play on
Every day, thousands of acres of forestland disappear — and with them, the benefits that people, wildlife, and landscapes depend on. But partnerships like this one with Lee Mendelson Film Productions prove that meaningful change is possible. You've already planted a tree. Now take the next step: your gift to the Arbor Day Foundation directly restores the forests that sustain all life. One tree started it. Your donation keeps it growing.
A Message from Our Partner:
Lee Mendelson Film Productions
Lee Mendelson Film Productions, the producer of the classic Peanuts® specials, is proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation on the release of this wonderful Vince Guaraldi soundtrack. This is the complete score for the final special that Vince Guaraldi worked on before his untimely passing the day he recorded it.
Lee Mendelson Film Productions makes every effort to manufacture our CDs and LPs in sustainable ways. Some of the LPs are manufactured with BioVinyl™, which reduces the carbon footprint during manufacturing relative to traditional methods. It replaces petroleum in the supply chain, employs sustainably forested paper and comes with a fully compostable bag in the wide release gatefold version that comes out on March 20, 2026.
There is also a 10” “baseball” LP that comes with a glove-shaped 12” LP for Record Store Day (April 18th). These records are made using bio-attributed vinyl. This means they also use less carbon relative to standard vinyl records.
Lastly, the "Digipak Lite ™" CDs were manufactured with eco-friendly ink, 16 pt FSC® certified partially recycled board stock, re-sealable eco-bag, recycled plastic tray, and less paper overall. 50-75% of the CD tray is made from discarded water bottles and containers. The CD packaging is entirely recyclable too.
50 years ago, Charles Schulz wrote and Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson produced this 15th Peanuts special: “It’s Arbor Day Charlie Brown” to celebrate the holiday and honor our arboreal friends. We are thrilled to carry on the legacy and mission of this special through our partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.
