The University of Alabama SGA Environmental Affair Tree Planting

Bonner Lee Campus Landscape Architect welcomed all attendees and explained the event. He described that Magnolia trees were being planted to highlight an entrance and screen some unwanted views of a building service area. He taught everyone the proper method of planting these trees. The students were encouraged to come back in the future to visit, to see the impact their deeds.

Cheers to our trees on Arbor Day weekend! Join us at Earthplace and explore our trails while sipping craft brews. Along the way are activities and sparkling beverage tastings for the kids. End your trail walk at our beer garden, open 4-6pm, with full-size beer cans for purchase, food trucks, lawn games and s’mores.

Join us at Wendell Park, 601. West Third St., as we hold a community Arbor Day on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10am. We will share the History of Arbor Day, share the importance of trees in our community, play interactive games with the kids such as name a tree or uses of trees, the mayor will read our proclamation, and we will add two pecan trees to our pecan orchard!

Planting trees is an act of kindness and optimism. A gift for our friends and neighbors, and for future generations.

Our church will be celebrating this opportunity on Sunday April 27th. We plan to have saplings for anyone who would want one or more to take with them to plant at home through a partnership with Piatt County Soil & Water District. We will be joined by Rev Cindy Shepherd from Faith in Place for a moment for mission. All are invited to participate.
