How the Recognition Program Works

At the beginning of the school year, schools that want to participate begin planning how they want to fulfill each of the criteria to earn recognition. (A helpful place to start is our resources page.) Throughout the school year, they work with local partners to implement activities in line with these plans.

Once the school’s application is approved, recognition and celebration can begin! The school may choose to continue their legacy by applying for recognition year after year.
