Egypt Valley Wildlife Area

Replanting Our Nation’s Forests

Forest Overview

The Egypt Valley Wildlife Area sits on 18,000 acres in scenic southeastern Ohio. The project location is in the Allegheny Plateau, above beautiful Stillwater Creek in the headwaters of the Tuscarawas River.

Egypt Valley Wildlife Area Needs Our Help

Over the last seven decades, 80% of the valley has been subjected to surface mining, leaving behind acres of compacted soils now void of native forestland. There are multiple tributary impairments in the Tuscarawas River Watershed. With your help, newly planted trees can begin to heal the land and the waters that run through it.

You can help repair damage to wildlife habitats. Read about our efforts in each and restore the awe-inspiring beauty of our state and national forests.
