For Immediate Release:
Nebraska City, Nebraska, September 5, 2006 – Earth Share, a nationwide network of the most respected environmental and conservation charities in the United States, recently named The National Arbor Day Foundation as one of three new members added in 2006. As one of Earth Share's newest members, employees can now donate to The National Arbor Day Foundation through their workplaces. Other members named this year include American Solar Energy Society and Wildlife Trust.
Earth Share is the country's largest environmental federation and offers working people the simplest, best opportunity to support environmental stewardship through payroll contribution at the workplace. Workplace contributors aid in the preservation of our world's natural areas, as well as supporting public health and the protection of our air, water, and wildlife. By offering the Earth Share program, forward thinking companies give their employees the opportunity to easily and effectively support all of these causes with just one gift. Employees are also given the option to specify one or any combination of Earth Share members they wish to support with their donation.
"The National Arbor Day Foundation is proud to be selected as an Earth Share member as we continue to preserve and prepare the world for future generations. These donations go a long way in keeping our environment healthy," said National Arbor Day Foundation president, John Rosenow.
The National Arbor Day Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Nebraska City, Nebraska, dedicated to inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees. Real, tangible results are what members and supporters see happen with their donations. In addition to planting over 11 million trees each year, the Foundation directs many other programs including Rain Forest Rescue, saving tropical forests with shade-grown coffee methods, Nature Explore, connecting children to the environment at an early age, and Tree City USA, inspiring communities across the United States to improve their urban forestry practices, among other programs.
