  • American Forests
    The country's oldest citizen conservation organization. Supports Global ReLeaf, Urban Forest Center, and Forest Policy Center. Sponsors of the Big Tree and Champion Tree programs.
  • International Society of Arboriculture
    To promote and improve the care and preservation of shade and ornamental trees through research and education. Offers a guide on the valuation of trees.
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture
    Created by Congress to acquire and disperse "useful" information on subjects connected with agriculture in the most general and comprehensive way and to procure, propagate, and distribute among the people new and valuable seeds and plants.
  • Urban Forest Ecosystems Institute
    Developed by the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo to address the increasing need for improved management of the urban forests in California.
  • US Forest Service
    Administers National Forests and National Grasslands and is responsible for the management of their resources. Works with both private and government owners of forested areas.
