John Rosenow, President
John Rosenow is the founder and President of The Arbor Day Foundation,
which has nearly a million members. Under his leadership, the Foundation created
the Tree City USA community forestry program, the Tree Line USA recognition
program for utilities, the Building With Trees program for builders and developers,
and the Conservation Trees and Trees For America public-education projects.
The Foundation sponsors the National Arbor Day Awards program, and its Arbor
Day National Poster Contest involves more than 75,000 5th grade classrooms nationwide.
Its Rain Forest Rescue program helps save threatened tropical forests. The Arbor
Day Foundation’s public service advertising is endorsed by the Advertising
Council and aired by the networks, and TV and radio stations throughout America.
John is the publisher of the Tree City USA Bulletin series, The National Arbor
Day Foundation's Library of Trees, and the Foundation's bimonthly publication,
Arbor Day.
In Nebraska City the Foundation manages Arbor Day Farm, a National Historic
Landmark, the estate of Arbor Day founder J. Sterling Morton, as an educational
visitor attraction; John oversaw the construction of Lied Lodge & Conference
Center, which is dedicated to meetings focusing on trees and conservation. Today
the property is home to the Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, featuring the Lied
Greenhouse, Woodland Pavilion, Tree House Trail; its Nature’s Classroom,
Exploratory Trail, and the planned Exploratory building are being developed
in collaboration with the Dimensions Educational Research Foundation.
The Tree City USA program, which is cosponsored by the National Association
of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service, has grown to include 3,080 towns,
cities, and military bases in all 50 states.
John organized The Arbor Day Foundation in 1972, the 100th anniversary
of Arbor Day.
Kevin Sander, Director, Corporate Partnerships
Kevin Sander is the Director of Corporate Partnerships for The National Arbor
Day Foundation. For over ten years he has worked closely with businesses on
various sponsorship, grant and cause-marketing promotions that have resulted
in millions of trees planted in National Forests and communities across the
country. His experience in marketing and communications has helped secure alliances
with many Fortune 500 companies, including The Home Depot, The Walt Disney Company,
Toyota, FedEx/Kinko’s, Albertsons, AT&T, and Keebler. Kevin has worked
with countless smaller businesses as well, which he states are just as valuable
in furthering the mission of The Arbor Day Foundation.
Dan Lambe, Vice President of Programs
Dan Lambe is Vice President of Programs for the Arbor Day Foundation.
Dan oversees the various innovative programs through which the National Arbor
Day Foundation strives to educate, recognize and empower people to plant, nurture
and celebrate trees, including Tree City USA, Tree Line USA, Conferences and
Seminars and more.
Dan has worked for more than twelve years in non-profit management creating
and directing programs to advance environmental and consumer related issues.
Dan joined the Arbor Day Foundation in January of 2005.
