What's This All About?

Matt

Everyone at Hogwarts knows that the Whomping Willow is one tough tree. It survived a seven years-long werewolf infestation, a collision with a flying Ford Anglia, and even infiltration by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Through it all, the Whomping Willow stood tall and kept on swinging.

Now that things at Hogwarts have settled down, the Whomping Willow has more time on its branches to produce music and tour as Matt Maggiacomo. Together, Matt and Whompy are using wizard rock to fight the noble battle of cleaning up the environment and otherwise encouraging respect for trees.

While touring, the Whomping Willow has noticed that Muggle trees are not able to defend themselves against the numerous threats they face. Each year thousands of acres of trees are destroyed by insect epidemics, storms, and wildfires. In many cases, the damage is so great that the trees will not regenerate naturally. As a result, someone needs to take action in order to ensure that we will have the trees we need to provide habitat for wildlife, clean air, and drinking water for our future.

That is why hp-ohio is encouraging everyone to support the Arbor Day Foundation by making a donation in the name of the Whomping Willow in honor of National Arbor Day, April 30, 2010.

Donations to the Arbor Day Foundation will fund planting, reforestation, and protection programs in addition to educational efforts that seek to inspire people to plant, nurture, a celebrate trees. What a wonderful way to make a difference this Arbor Day!

"We'll be all right, side-by-side, on Arbor Day."
