Together, We’re Replanting Our Nation’s Forests 2013 Update

For more than 20 years, the Arbor Day Foundation has been helping replant our Nation’s Forests. In fact, we’ve helped plant over 42 million trees in forests that have been damaged by fire, insects, and disease. 2013 is no exception. Here are a few examples of how the contributions of our members and supporters are making a positive impact on our world this year. There are many more.


Bayfield County Forest Bayfield County Forest

Bayfield County Forest is a 167,000-acre public forest in northern Wisconsin -- one of 29 county forests in the state which total 2.4 million acres.

Boise National Forest Boise National Forest

The mountainous landscape of Boise National Forest lies just to the northeast of Boise, Idaho. More than 2.6 million acres of forest naturally protect and filter the water that originates on the landscape.

Four Creeks State Forest Four Creeks State Forest

This forest serves an important role in the watershed management of northern Florida and the need to replant areas on the forest lost to wildfire are great. The goal, with help from our members and donors, is to help replant 131 acres of damaged areas that are critical to the area watershed and to the animals that dwell in the forest.

John Tully Wildlife Management Area John Tully Wildlife Management Area

The John Tully Wildlife Management Area is a 15,500-acre haven for wildlife and is filled with a diverse population of bottomland hardwoods and swamp habitats.

Los Padres National Forest stretches more than 200 miles from north to south and encompasses 1.75 million acres of beautiful landscape in south-central California.

The Manchester State Forest is a beautiful 25,000-acre expanse of trees, wildlife, swampland, and bays.

Naneum Ridge State Forest is a 71,000 acre forest oasis of the central Cascade Mountains and also home to one of the largest elk herds in the state of Washington.
