The Apple House is a popular destination for guests to Arbor Day Farm throughout the year.

The Apple House has long been the heart of Arbor Day Farm's orchard operation. This open, inviting building welcomes guests to the Farm, and houses key educational and interpretive demonstrations as well as the apple sorting work.

Every year, thousands of guests to the Apple House visit the gift shop, Pie Garden café, and other attractions. Education programs and tours are available all year long. Summer highlights include a visit to the encounter center, complete with a working beehive, and the chance to enjoy "the world's best apple pie" and the Farm's renowned cider slushes. In the fall, visitors watch apple sorting done by a vintage piece of machinery affectionately known as "Old Rube" and can purchase both standard commercial apple varieties as well as unique offerings from the Preservation Orchard.

The Apple House is open throughout the year, and the Pie Garden welcomes guests from mid-April through October. At any time of year, the Apple House is a welcome stop for those wanting to buy cider, learn about trees, or head for the wooded trails of Arbor Day Farm.

Fall, the season of harvest, is a sweet time to visit the orchards of Arbor Day Farm. Fall visitors to the Apple House can watch "Old Rube," the antique apple processing machine, as it washes, polishes, and sizes the harvest.
