1997 Arbor Day Awards

The Arbor Day Foundation's Arbor Day Awards competition carries forward a tradition begun by J. Sterling Morton, founder of Arbor Day. He realized the deep importance of public recognition in furthering accomplishment of the Arbor Day Ideal. These awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations for their contributions to tree planting and wise environmental stewardship.
