TRIANGLE PACIFIC FLOORING GROUP RECEIVES ARBOR DAY FOUNDATION PROMISE TO THE EARTH AWARD

Nebraska City, Neb., April 12, 1999--Triangle Pacific Flooring Group, Addison, Texas, will receive a 1999 Promise to the Earth Award from The National Arbor Day Foundation. Triangle Pacific is being recognized for its commitment to planting young hardwood trees in our nation's forests.

The award will be presented at the Arbor Day Foundation's 27th annual Arbor Day Awards, to be held in Nebraska City, Neb., on Saturday, May 1. The Promise to the Earth Award recognizes sustained corporate commitment and national leadership by those who join with The National Arbor Day Foundation on special projects in education and in the planting of trees.

Triangle Pacific Flooring Group helped plant 100,000 seedlings in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas. The trees will provide important habitat for such wildlife as deer, squirrel, turkey, and black bear.

Also winning 1999 Promise to the Earth Awards are Health Communications, Inc. of Deerfield Beach, Florida, publishers of the best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series, honored for helping the Arbor Day Foundation replant Florida forests destroyed by fires in the summer of 1998; and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Beverly Hills, California, makers and distributors of the popular animated film FernGully 2, for their commitment to preserving rain forest land through the Foundation's Rain Forest Rescue Program.
