Nebraska City, Neb. (April 1, 2011) – Every time a car is old by Dick Hannah Dealerships in Vancouver, Wash., a gift is given back to the Earth.

Thanks to the generosity of Dick Hannah Dealerships, 50,000 trees have been planted in forests throughout the country since it formed a partnership with the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation in 2007. Donations by Dick Hannah Dealerships have planted trees in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and in forests managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

Dick Hannah Dealerships makes a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant one tree for each car it sells.

"By planting trees, Dick Hannah Dealerships serves as a model for other automobile dealerships and service providers," said Kevin Sander, director of corporate partnerships with the Arbor Day Foundation. "The trees being planted by Dick Hannah's donations have added much-needed trees to forests that are in need of replanting. These trees are helping to clean the air, provide habitat for wildlife and adding beauty to our forests that will last for generations."

Dick Hannah Dealerships is the largest privately owned auto dealer in the state of Washington. It has been family owned since 1949 and is dedicated to setting the standard for environmental best practices for automobile dealerships.
