Celebrate Wine Under the Pines at Kimmel Orchard, Arbor Day Farm

Nebraska City, Neb. (July 27, 2009) – Kick back and enjoy a fun filled afternoon of vintage wine, craft beer, fine food, and live music during Wine Under the Pines at Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard and Arbor Day Farm. The second annual Wine Under the Pines takes place on Saturday, Aug. 1, from noon to 8 p.m.

Wine Under the Pines is a festival of wines, beers and cuisine of Southeast Nebraska.

At Kimmel Orchard, visitors will take part in a grape stomp, and participate in cooking demonstrations with Nick Maloney, executive chef at Lied Lodge & Conference Center, and Adam Graybill, chef at the Nebraska Brewing Company. Live music featuring local artists Bunky Christensen and the Syncopated Swing Band will be featured.

Arbor Day Farm's Apple House will feature wine frappes, sangria making demonstrations, wine ice cream, and samples of Arbor Day Farm wines.

At Arbor Day Farm, visitors can take the Discovery Ride into the vineyard for a guided tour and complimentary wine tasting. Artisan Woods, an outdoor showcase of nature-inspired art, is on display at the Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure attraction. Visitors to the Tree Adventure can also climb 50 feet high to the Canopy Tree House and explore nature along the trails.

A three-course gourmet dinner is offered Friday and Saturday nights at Lied Lodge featuring fresh produce from Arbor Day Farm and Kimmel Orchard. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling (402) 873-8740.
