Plumas National Forest

The magnificence of Plumas National Forest spans more than 1 million acres of northern California in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Its fresh air and majestic views draw urban and rural visitors seeking nature’s serenity.

Miles of effervescent streams and lakes zigzag through the rich mixture of native pine, fir, and cedar trees. In a matter of days, though, Plumas’ stunning terrain had changed dramatically.

Desperate Need

In 2007, wildfires destroyed more than 88,000 acres of the Plumas. Our partners in the US Forest Service have indicated that many areas need urgent help replanting new trees.

What We Are Doing

With your support, we are helping to replant more than 790,000 trees in the Plumas in the Spring of 2009 — beginning even before the snow has melted.
