One of the ten principles is to include a mix of activity areas. Principle #2 describes the benefits of having a mix of activity areas, such as:
A music & movement area can include scarves to inspire children to move in interesting ways, perhaps mimicking the motion of trees or wind.
A flat surface covered with a hard material, like this “tree cookie” flooring, provides an ideal area for children to build with blocks.
