The Nature Explore Classroom at Laurie’s Inn

An amazing thing happened once Laurie’s Inn child-care center in Casper, WY opened its certified Nature Explore Classroom. The desire of the children, and their families, to learn more about the natural world began to grow.

Tree Blocks

Children can create wonderful masterpieces while building with natural tree blocks in the building area.

Shortly after launching the Nature Explore Classroom, Laurie’s Inn owner/child-care provider Laura Stadtfeld started offering a Nature Explore Families Club for children and their parents. Former students and neighborhood families are also taking advantage of this opportunity to share the outdoor world with young children.

The Nature Explore Classroom at Laurie’s Inn is the first certified classroom in Wyoming. In the classroom, children can explore a garden area, climb natural structures and practice their balance and agility in the music and movement area.

Each area of the outdoor classroom contains a nature element, such as a lathe in the garden area and a butterfly garden that borders the nature art area.

Climbing Area

Using natural wood stumps, children can work on their balance and agility in the climbing area at Laurie’s Inn Nature Explore Classroom.
