Carolyn Kindle

Vice President and Executive Director, Enterprise Holdings Foundation

Carolyn Kindle is Vice President and Executive Director of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the company that, through its regional subsidiaries, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands. Enterprise Holdings is the most comprehensive service provider and only investment-grade company in the U.S. car rental industry.

Together with its Enterprise Fleet Management affiliate, Enterprise Holdings offers a total transportation solution. Combined, these businesses – which include extensive car rental and car sharing services, commercial truck rental, corporate fleet management, and retail car sales – accounted for $15.4 billion in revenue and operated 1.3 million vehicles throughout the world in fiscal 2012. Ranked by Forbes as one of America’s Largest Private Companies, Enterprise Holdings’ revenues also place the company near the top of the travel industry, exceeding many airlines and most cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and online travel agencies. Enterprise Holdings is owned by the Taylor family and headquartered in St. Louis.

Carolyn, a third-generation Taylor family member, began her career at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern while attending college. Following graduation, she joined the company full-time as a Management Trainee in Oklahoma, working behind the rental counter and learning the importance of superior customer service, an Enterprise trademark. After earning a promotion to Assistant Manager at the Tulsa airport, she moved to St. Louis in 2001 to work in the Fleet Services (now Fleet Management) division at the Enterprise corporate office.

In 2003, Carolyn changed roles to work with the national marketing management team, where she was responsible for local corporate accounts. This prepared her for her next position supporting Enterprise’s operating groups in the southeastern part of the United States. She was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Rental in January 2007.

In 2010, Carolyn transitioned her position to focus on philanthropy and community relations in the St. Louis area. She served as Secretary for the Crawford Taylor Foundation, the Taylor family’s philanthropic foundation, before assuming her current position in January of 2013.

As Executive Director of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, Carolyn draws upon her previous operational and philanthropic experience to develop and implement the Foundation’s philanthropic strategies and objectives. She also leads the quarterly meetings where the Foundation board reviews grant applications submitted by Enterprise Holdings employees on behalf of community organizations with which they are involved.

A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Carolyn currently serves on the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri. She lives in St. Louis, where Enterprise Holdings is headquartered.
